Cultivate is proud to be announced as a finalist in the 2024 SA Premier’s Food and Beverage Industry Awards.
The social enterprise has been nominated for the Emerging Business Award, which recognises a new business that demonstrates potential for continued growth and development of its products and markets.
Cultivate’s commitment to grow is driven by its purpose to produce quality food products, whilst scaling the social impact it creates through jobs for people experiencing barriers to employment.
Its workplace has a social charter to employ a minimum of 20% of the workforce of people with barriers to employment (including disability) in open employment, offering training and pathways into the hospitality sector.
The acquisition of Adelaide Hills Foods in January 2024 has expanded Cultivate’s offerings to include several iconic South Australian brands such as Emmaline’s, Barossa Pizza and Emma & Myrtle's, plus national retail distribution. This diversifies the skill building for employees and our customer base for an expanded product range in the future.
Travis Kerkman, General Manager - Hospitality Services, is elated to be named a finalist for the awards. “We are thrilled to be considered amongst the very best of food and beverage manufacturing in SA. A lot of hard work and passion has gone into making Cultivate a viable business, and the vision is becoming reality.
“As the social enterprise
grows, so does the social impact we offer. We know that we are good on the plate
and in the community!” he said.
Congratulations to all nominees. Winners will be announced at the awards night in November.
